Annual National Marketing Awards

The Chartered Institute Of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) Ultimately Aims At Seeing Organizations (Both Private And Public) Embrace The Marketing Concept, And Be Marketing Oriented In Their Operations. The Annual Marketing Performance Awards Has Indeed Played A Catalytic Role In Shaping The Future Of Businesses.

In line with our mission, to deepen the interest of the marketing profession and that of its members and to ensure that the Institute impacts positively in the performance of its legitimate role on society and the economy of Ghana and the world at large. 

In line with our mission, to deepen the interest of the marketing profession and that of its members and to ensure that the Institute impacts positively in the performance of its legitimate role on society and the economy of Ghana and the world at large, the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana initiated an award scheme, which has been in existence since 1989.
The objectives of the awards are:

 

  1. Creating Awareness: To create awareness for the Marketing Concept and its importance for the success of businesses.
  2. Promote Professional Standards: To promote high professional standards and to encourage excellence among marketing practitioners.
  3. Healthy Competition: To ensure an improved quality of products and services being offered by businesses.

Selection Criteria​

A survey was recently conducted on the CIMG Annual National Marketing Performance Awards, to assess the public perceptions of the process.
The sample was drawn from corporate organizations and individuals.

The Survey revealed that CIMG awards has a very favourable image and is recognized as a benchmark of marketing excellence in Corporate Ghana. The following quotes buttress this point.

How It Works

It is instructive to know that some individuals and organizations, who have won the CIMG awards, have moved on further to win some international awards.

Organizations are now adopting creative and innovative marketing strategies in their activities (i.e. the financial, manufacturing, and electronic media industry.) to improve on their performances

The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) ultimately aims at seeing organizations (both private and public) embrace the marketing concept, and be marketing oriented in their operations

With a marketing driven economy, players in the Ghanaian economy will be expected to rely on modern marketing practices in the realization of their business successes

The 27 categories of the CIMG awards therefore create a venue for individuals, organizations, etc. to strive to win awards and thereby improve upon their operations

The Annual Marketing Performance Awards has indeed played a catalytic role in shaping the future of businesses.

Selection Process

The Governing Council of the CIMG, in collaboration with stakeholders such as Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and industry (GNCCI), Ministry of Trade and Industry (MOTI), National Insurance Commission, Ghana Association of Bankers, Research organization etc play an active roles to enhance the selection process.

Nomination

Nominations being invited from the general public through advert in the Dailies. Personal surveys are also carried out by the Awards Selection Committees.

Evaluation

Awards Selection Committee evaluates nominations and screens them to three (3) nominees based on published criteria for the Executive and the governing Council of the CIMG to decide on the winner.​

Selection

Council selects award winners based on careful analysis of available background information.
